Vote By Mail

Permanent Vote by Mail Applicationpdf: Applying to become a permanent Vote by Mail voter means that you will automatically receive a Vote by Mail Ballot for every election you are eligible to vote. You will no longer need to apply for future elections.

The signature of each person asking for a vote by mail ballot is required in order to verify the legitimacy of the application.

Voters who wish to vote by mail must submit a written request for a ballot no later than 7 days prior to election day.  (Wednesday May 30, 2018 for this Primary.)

NOTE: The returned postage required for a Vote by Mail ballot is a single first-class stamp.   Mail back the ballot or to drop off the ballot at a polling place on Election Day. Vote By Mail Ballot must be postmarked on or before Election Day.

Vote in Person

Polling places are typically open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in multiple locations across Los Angeles County on Election Day.

What to bring with you to your polling place on Election Day?

  • Official Sample Ballot
  • Vote by Mail Ballot if you are a Vote by Mail voter
  • Photo ID, utility bill, or government-issued document with name and residence address if you are a new citizen or a first-time voter who did not indicate your driver’s license on your registration.
